A Distant Gaze

She seems to be looking directly at us, yet there is something distant in her gaze.

The relaxed gesture of resting her face against her hand contrasts with the directness of her eyes, creating a quiet tension and a sense of emotion that remains unspoken.

By allowing the edges of the face to dissolve while keeping the gaze distinct, what lies beyond it is left open to each viewer’s own memories and emotions.
